Effie was bored as she walked down the street after closing down the hair salon.  She was used to having a million things to look after, things that needed planning and people to keep in check but now she felt like she had nothing.  Nothing but hair appointments during the day and a lot of nothing to do during the nights.  

Stopping in front of a shop to look at the window display before moving on.  She had thought about getting a hobby before but maybe she needed a pet.  Something that she could look after.  

Still musing over the idea, she darted across the street while making her way towards the hotel.
