When is a date not a date - Closed to Faith, Anna and Castiel

As soon as Dean learned that he'd had the winning bid on both Anna and Castiel, and after the angel admitted that he found Anna pretty Dean knew what he was going to do. Not that Dean was a matchmaker, he wasn't, but Castiel needed to get his cherry plucked and Anna deserved some happiness. The UST between the two could like up the village and it was about damn time they at least took a small step in that direction. Hence the bowling double date that wasn't a double date He was using the excuse of keeping an eye on Sam since Ruby.

He'd left a message for Anna and Castiel to meet him and Faith at the bowling alley. It was going to be an entertaining evening for him and Faith watching the other two and if all else failed they were heading to the Firecracker to let alcohol loosen Cas up.

Faith was looking over the collection of bowling balls trying to decide which one she'd like to use, when she looked back to see Dean on the messenger, "They gonna be here soon?"

Castiel was nervous. He'd never gone bowling before, and he wasn't sure if it was something he'd be any good at. He'd taken it upon himself to read up on the rules of the game as well as watched videos of it- the research didn't make it seem very difficult, but still it wasn't like his vessel had been much of a sports player.

He arrived with Anna to the bowling alley. Dean had told hm he didn't have to wear special clothes, but all of the videos he'd watched... well, the guys had bowling shirts. And he had gotten one and was wearing it. Now he felt sort of foolish.

Anna had done a pretty good job of not reacting too openly to Castiel's bowling search. It was cute and he was trying, but when they arrived at the alley, a smile seeped through. She could only imagine Dean's reaction.

Her smile was tempered somewhat when her eyes fell to where Dean and Faith were. She was glad she had gotten more comfortable being around them at the same time or else this would have been really hard.

Dean blinked when Cas arrived sporting a bowling shirt. He had no idea that they actually made those and looked over at Faith with his eyebrows raised up before smiling at them.

"Nice shirt, bumblebee."

Having found her choice bowling ball-it had flames, heck yeah! She turned to catch sight of Anna and Cas and gave them both a smile.

"Don't listen to Dean, he's just jealous he doesn't have a shirt that kickass." Faith winked at Castiel.

The shirt he had chosen was black with yellow stripes, so bumblebee was sort of right. Cas grimaced.

"All of the professionals wear these." He said defensively to Dean and then smiled a 'thank you' to Faith.

"You and Cas should start a league." Picturing them in matching bowling shirts was amusing. Anna thought about bringing the idea up to Sam or maybe their mother to see if they could make that happen.

She walked over to where she saw their shoes were already set out. Bowling shoes were always the one weird thing about the sport to Anna. She picked both pairs up and held Castiel's out to his. "You'll need these."

Dean picked up his ball that looked like a giant red and black marble. "I'm not sure there's enough people in the village that know how to bowl to have a league." And while he could be competitive, Dean preferred watching roller derby with hot chicks in shorts to bowling league.

"But it would be an excuse to keep an eye on Sam and Ruby."

"Thanks." Cas smiled at Anna before taking the strange-looking shoes. He sat beside her and put them on. Once finished, he stood back up. "These are very slippery. Where is Sam anyway?"

That was his main concern, after all.

"Do you really think Sam plans on spending more time with Ruby after today?" Anna remained seated and glanced to Dean.

She felt bad for bringing the question up, but if this really was about keeping an eye on Sam, they should know.

Dean pulled a face. "I don't think Sam plans on it but Ruby does and I don't trust her." He stated the obvious. "There's something going on. It has been since that weekend Cas got here but I don't know what, just a feeling."

Sam was hiding something and if it was Ruby, he'd neuter him. Or kill her. Either/or.

He looked at Faith with a smirk. "The point of me mocking the bowling leagues are the shitty players."

Dean scowled at the mention of demon blood. "If Sam is sucking down on demon blood again, I am locking him in a dungeon and he's not getting out until we go back home and Ruby's dead."

His scowl turned into a smirk, "and just for bringing that up, Cas goes first." Because Dean needed a good laugh.

Faith laughed, taking a seat at one of the chairs behind the score machine so that she could type in their names, very much wanting to steer the topic back to the fun things and not the Sam eating blood things, "Show us what you've got, Castiel."

Castiel rolled his eyes at Dean and then walked up toward the lane, swallowing. Yeah, he was just a little nervous. Videos and movies made everything look easy.

Honestly, once he actually bowled it wasn't too bad. He had decent aim (good coordination, after all), but he was much too stiff from being nervous, so he only hit three pins on the left side. Once he went again, he knocked down two more. Not terrible for a beginner, though if the others saw his tongue was sort of sticking out as if he'd been concentrating very hard.

Anna refrained from mentioning anything about demon blood, but she had her own experiences now with it. The stuff didn't even taste good.

She stood back behind the score machine with her arms crossed and smiled when Castiel went. "Not bad."

He did better than Anna expected.

The shoes hadn't even slipped a little bit on the floor for Cas, too bad. Dean waved toward Anna, "your turn and then Faith can go." He'd go last, but his gaze flicked between Anna and Cas with a wink at Faith.

Although she'd half been expecting a strike with him being an angel and all.
