Valentine's Day confused David. Still, a few days later, he found himself confused. He had received and given Valentines and other gifts and he had attempted to bid on Lana for the auction, but that had been against the rules (normally, he was very diligent about the rules). He was surrounded by friends here in the village and had felt a new emotion when playing hide and go seek with Gorgo and Maximus and Jeremy.

All in all, it made David very thoughtful. Since he didn't have class on Monday, he walked around, his hands in the pockets of his coat. Sometimes he was better able to think when he was walking. Perhaps he looked like a small grownup in his khakis and his wool coat, a contemplative frown on his face.
