Seen and not seen (OTA)  
The key to being a good con was to be instantly forgettable. It was an irony in Neal's line of work: he was good looking, he knew it and he used that. But he needed to be able to be invisible when the time came.

That time was not now. With business being slow, he was about being seen: being out and about and doing some shopping, if, for no other reason to be give Peter a reason to believe that everything was just fine.

Which it was, of course. Neal did, however, need some paint that he could tinker with, so the painting shop was his first stop, then on to the cafe and then on to some shopping, even a stop into Peter's shop. He smiled, hat cocked over an eye, at anyone he passed.

Peter was working, not hard, but he was still working. The shop was almost ruthlessly organized and he was giving the counter a polish.

After this he would sit back and read a book about Babe Ruth unless someone came in to shop. He smiled when the bell over the door juingled, a smile that went from polite to genuine when he saw it was Neal.

"Settling right in, got her business, she seems happy." He was too actually. He hated being held captive here but he wasn't unhappy.

If there was one thing, well quite a few things, that Mozzie was good at, it was being invisible. He had one of those faces that blended into the crowd, which was a very valuable asset to have for a con man, thief. At the moment, he was reading a newspaper, or what appeared to be doing that. What he was really doing, was watching the foot traffic in front of the museum. What time of day was if the busiest, etc.

With a barely stifled smile, Neal sat at the other end of the bench Mozzie sat on and made a show of going through his shopping bag. "... and?"

Alex set the smoothie down behind her on the bench and reached for the box. With an arched brow, she opened the lid not sure what to expect. When she saw the necklace her gaze rose to Neal's. "Has anyone mentioned what good taste you have?"

Ah shucks. He grinned and shrugged. He took the necklace, gesturing for her to turn around so he could put it on her, fingers grazing her neck.
